Citizenship Assemblies

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Street Child Africa is visiting schools to lead assemblies and workshops on citizenship.   The UN Convention covers the rights of all children to life, health and education.  It also outlines our responsibilities as citizens and international citizens in ensuring these rights.  The Convention provides an excellent and tangible way for UK students to consider their role as citizens in the global community, as does our work with street children in Africa.   Street Child Africa is particularly focusing on education and street children to mark the Convention’s anniversary. We would welcome the opportunity to visit your school, lead an assembly and explore with your students what it means to be an international citizen.
