You can hold your ‘Make a cuppa Make a Difference’ Tea Party at anytime of the day – think about what will work for you.

Choose a Location

Your Tea Party can be wherever you drink tea!  It might be a special tea-break at work, selling cakes, or inviting friends and neighbours for a tea party at home. If you’re at school, you could sell cakes at break time. Or, why not host a cake sale at your Rotary Club, WI or parish group?

Invite your Guests and Spread the News

Now you have decided the date, time, and venue of your Tea Party, you can think about who you’d like to invite and start spreading the news. You can to send out invitations by post, email, or even Facebook. Ask guests to confirm if they will be coming, so you can work out what you need

Involve your Community

Tell your local businesses, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants about your Tea Party, and ask for their help. You could ask for donations in the form of tea bags, biscuits and cakes or providing prizes for a raffle. Also why not let your local media know about your event?

Get Fundraising!

You can fundraise by asking for a donation for each cup of tea, biscuit and slice of cake. £1.50 is enough to feed a baby for a day in a crèche in Accra, Ghana and £5 pays for a blanket to keep a child warm at night. To raise more money, you could have a raffle or a quiz.
