Will Elrick & Ollie King to climb to Base Camp, Mount Everest

Will Elrick

A message from Will:  My name is Will Elrick, I'm from the good old land down under, I lost a leg in a car crash 13 years ago, but I will be climbing to Everest Base Camp for Street Child Africa on 20th December, 2010. In 1997 I had a severe car accident which left me in a position of life or death, with suspected brain damage and also the removal of my right leg to my hip. A fractured spine and smashed pelvis which needed rebuilding was also on the list of the many injuries I sustained. Waking from a coma which lasted 6 weeks I discovered my whole life had changed.

This life changing moment, brought many lows, which anything of this severity would. But has brought some of the most amazing highs. I mean literally, I have been privileged to climb some of the world highest peaks and trekked some of the most amazing treks, all with the aid of crutches....nothing more....nothing less. As i have lost my whole leg, using a prosthetic limits me, the crutches...actually give me the freedom to climb and trek anywhere I can.

Recently Street Child Africa's Education Officer and the big man Ollie King got in contact with me and asked me to climb to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for Street Child Africa. As soon as I read about Street Child Africa and as soon as I read about what they do, what they represent and their integrity in the cause, there was no hesitation....I was back in the bush with a pack training for the climb.

Ollie and I will be on the trek, and right now we raising as much money as we can to help SCA keep doing their amazing work. Please give generously to make sure the kids in Africa get a fair go, and not stay on the street.

Thank you for your support.
