Annual Golf Day
Former England footballer John Salako was the special guest at our 3rd Annual Charity Golf Day hosted at the Hoebridge Golf Centre on 9th September 20011.
Twelve teams of four played a Stableford Competition with the best two scores counting on all holes. Congratulations went to Team 6 (Simon Mortlock, Christine MortIock, Kevin McMahon, and Ann Hynes) who won first place with an impressive round score of 94 points! Along with the 18-hole game, there were a few fun competitions to test the golfer's skills. Nearest Pin at the 12th hole was won by Marc Espinet and the Longest Drive at the 4th hole won by Calvin Coleshill. Raj Kalsi caused a frenzy when he very nearly got a Hole-in-One at the 18th hole which would have won him a brand new Ford KA! The round of golf was followed by a dinner reception and awards ceremony in the evening.

Nigerian-born Salako, along with our chair Hilary Riddle, handed the prizes to the winners and later led a very lively auction. Thanks to the dedicated and generous supporters and sponsors, whose donations undoubtedly made the tournament both enjoyable and successful, the event raised over £4500 which will make a huge difference to the partners in Africa.
