Student Ambassadors Programme
Students from across the country are being invited to use their voices, skills and talents to help street children to be heard in our local communities. Street Child Ambassadors will represent Street Child Africa and the street children our partners work with, by raising awareness in their schools, colleges and social networking groups about the lives of street children.
Our Ambassadors will champion the rights of street children. They will be valued and supported members of our team with access to a range of resources. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to develop their communication and presentation skills as they participate in promoting international campaigns, such as Peace One Day and the World Day against Child Abuse.
News from our Street Child Ambassadors
Students from across the country have signed up to our exciting new initiative and are using their talents to raise awareness about street children.
My name is Camille and I’m at college in West Sussex. I was born in Africa and recently visited Ghana with my family and have seen the vulnerability of children for myself. I have been a Street Child Ambassador for four months and have sold Christmas cards around my neighbourhood and run a stand at a local Christmas market. I am also helping to raise awareness via local primary schools by making assembly presentations. Working for Street Child Africa is really going to help me in the future as I will gain experience in public speaking and presentation skills.
It also gives me the opportunity to make a difference, as well as completing my Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
Meet our Youngest Ambassador
You don’t have to be at secondary school to be an Ambassador. Denil celebrated his 10th birthday in November by asking his friends to donate to Street Child Africa instead of giving him birthday presents. 18 boys from year 5 at Surbiton High Prep School enjoyed 2 hours of playing football on a beautiful sunny, crisp afternoon and raised a total of £225! A winning game for Street Child Africa!
